This article arose from the study of the cultural heritage of Atemajac river in Guadalajara, Jalisco, comprising
the so-called industrial building heritage. The immediate objective of this paper is to demonstrate the social,
cultural, and historical significance of the industrial building heritage at Atemajac river, through its formation
and the relationship with its surroundings. It intends to cast light on the heritage value of these remains and
show its current situation within the economical and spatial changes. The criteria used was based in mapping
and saving data, gathered through field work observation, documentary analysis, and interviews with members
of the communities. Thus, allowing to divulge the heritage wealth of the 19th century industrialization. Aiming
to awaken the conscience of different sectors to ensure the conservation of these cultural heritage assets,
guaranteeing that these vestiges will be able to be seen by future generations..
