The objective of this paper is to describe the historical process of secularization of the Franciscan complexes by the secular clergy and to establish the technological changes in the construction processes that modified the internal spatiality and exterior volumetry of thedoctrinal and parish complexes, as well as their respective visiting chapels, in the current state of Yucatan. Through the analysis of the available documentary information and the direct observation of the technological elements in Franciscan and secular buildings, both the process of secularization and the constructive solutions adopted in them are determined. Itwill be seen that the construction solutions allowed an efficient and rapid material consolidation of these complexes as a consolidation of their territories.
